This work narrates the Manila Galleon trade (1565–1815), which connected Manila and Acapulco for more than two centuries. The route moved goods, people, and religious objects between Asia and the Americas, while aggressively expanding Catholic evangelization. Unlike the widely studied Atlantic crossings, this lesser-known Pacific network reveals how religious imagery helped legitimize the ambitions of colonial Spain across vast territories and oceans.
